An Important Message to Our Customers & Donors About COVID-19

Attention Customers and Donors: As a leading thrift retailer in the Southeast, we have been monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation and are keeping a close watch on the daily developments. As we listen to the news and watch what is happening around the world and in our own cities, we know that COVID-19 is going to be part of our future in the coming days & weeks. Everywhere we turn, there is and will be an impact from this virus. Our top priority is to work together to inhibit the spread of the coronavirus and to offer our employees, donors, and customers a safe experience and environment. We want to encourage everyone to remain calm and understand that all of us need to continue to be informed and updated on this situation. We are closely monitoring all information being provided from the CDC, World Health Organization, local health authorities and other related regulatory agencies. We are taking necessary steps based on their guidance. Much like other retailers, we will continue to do business and collect donations while providing the safest possible environment for our employees, donors and customers. Many of the items we provide are staples for households in our communities. Our desire is that our customers continue to have access to these needed items in a safe and healthy environment. I would like to share the specific steps we have taken to provide the safest possible environment for you, your family and our employees: We are sending additional cleaning supplies to all of our stores and implementing additional hygienic cleaning protocols including additional deep cleaning, and regular sanitation of high-touch surfaces and frequently visited areas like touch screens, counters, check-out lanes, registers, terminals, restrooms and doors. We are reinforcing illness prevention procedures with all our employees as recommended by the CDC, including frequent handwashing, avoiding contact with your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands and avoiding close contact with people who are sick. We encourage all of you to do the same We are instructing Employees who are exhibiting symptoms of illness to stay home and seek care from a medical provider. Again, we encourage you to do the same. We are changing our donation collection operations to protect the health of our donors and staff. When you drop donations off at our stores or when we come to your home for a free home pick-up, we will be maintaining the 6 ft. rule. We are not entering your home but asking you instead to leave your donations on your sidewalk, front step or driveway. If you drop off at our stores or manned donation centers, we ask that you not leave your vehicle. Let us take it from your vehicle for you. We are also implementing a waiting period of 72 hours on all donations collected before they are processed and moved onto the sales floor. To limit face to face contact we encourage donors to continue to utilize our substantial network of donation bins located throughout our surrounding communities to make donations.
